 Fantastic....almost.... January 8, 2009
Well, I was so excited to play this cd and I let it wash over me, the sound of these four particularly clever men is always wonderful - I adore 'She' and it sent shivers down my spine, BUT, I do agree with another fans comments...Carlos does tend to drown out the others and I do think the mixing is a little off with exceptionally quiet moments and then blasted again...mmmmm, so I found myself having to up and down with the volume. However, overall, fantastic...almost....

This is the first time I have bought an Il Divo CD and I was a little disappointed, the tracks were a bit samey. Maybe it will grow on me though.
However, I do love their versions of Hellelujah, Amazing Grace and Adagio.

I have been a fan of Il Divo from the very beginning. Each new album i thought they could not get any better, well they did and they have. The Promise is outstanding I love it. Their renditions of Amazing Grace and Hallelujah are beautifully and sympathetically covered. I also love Adagio I was not sure that they could pull this one off but they certainly did and did it very well. Angelina is fun, a real toe tapper. La Promesa is just lovely and in my opinion really shows how the guys voices have matured and grown. Seb has gone from having a pleasent voice to an outstanding voice that can certainly hold its own with the other three, opera trained or not. In my opinion the guys have totally delivered with The Promise so thanks guys.

I have found with all Il Divos CD's that first hearing I am always a little unsure, but having listened to The Promise over and over again, this is certainly a wonderful CD and one I have listened to late at night when I cannot sleep. It is beautiful, and I for one cannot wait for February when I will get to see the guys singing their new songs from The Promise live, it will be such a treat
