Amazon.co.uk Review Once you've won the lottery you don't go throwing the same parties you used to when you were on a two-cans-of-cider student budget--you lay on a spread, you let people know what you're packing these days. It's a sentiment that runs right through Folie A Deux, Fall Out Boy's fifth and most audacious studio album. Having already expanded their sonic palette way beyond emo with 2007's mega-selling Infinity On High (and to a much more successful extent than peers Panic At The Disco with their mainstream-chasing Pretty. Odd.) they really go for broke here, not only racking up track after track of glitteringly anthemic sing-along action--while also somehow managing not to betray the muscle that made them famous in the first place--but also visibly parading a line of notable guests in case you were any doubt as to their status as rock A-listers. Elvis Costello, Travis McCoy and members of The Academy Is... and Panic At The Disco crop up in cameos on Aerosmith-esque ballad "What A Catch, Donnie", all singing lines from previous Fall Out Boy tracks. We told you it was audacious. Lil' Wayne stamps some style on the Michael Jackson pop verse of "Tiffany Blews" and Debbie Harry duets the album to a close on "West Coast Smoker". Elsewhere, out of the VIP room, "America's Suiteharts" still gets noticed by walking over ELO's "Mr Blue Sky" in Foo Fighters' boots and "I Don't Care" throbs like the tattooed cousin of "Spirit In The Sky". --James Berry

The Band Who Would Be King..... December 19, 2008 Gets better and better with each listen. Beautiful harmonies. And some great guest vocals. I think Stumpy's voice has got even better with the last two albums. I still think I prefer Infinity on High, but that could change.
I wasn pleased to hear that Pete was becoming less introspective with the lyrics on this one- still not afraid to tackle the darker issues.
Anyone else want a top hat and cane for track 12? Ahh...just me...
Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux - A fall out into the best of the best December 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having reached a play count on my personal Itunes of 20 full plays of this album, i truly believe this album is a piece of magic.
By far the songs on this vary from pop, to jazz to even a bit of screamo on the last song, this album creates a general happiness in the air.
Standout songs are tack numbers 1,2,5,6, 11 and 13
Another great album from Fall Out Boy December 10, 2008 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have listened to the entire album a few times over, (don't ask how I obtained it) and it is another great album from FOB. They have gone in a slightly new direction with this record, with many musical influences aparent. From the 80's synth stabs of "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet" to the jaunty duet with Panic At The Disco's lead: Brendan Urie in "20 Dollar Nose Bleed" the album is full of interesting and lovable songs. My personal favorite being "Tiffany Blews".
However the album does have it's down sides. While great, it is not as good as their classic albums "Take This to Your Grave" or "From Under the Cork Tree". It just doesn't feel like an album should - the songs are all so different that there just doesn't seem to be general thread holding them together. While there are some excellent tracks, there are also a couple which I would consider skipping past in the future.
All in all, a brilliant album in it's own right, but just doesn't stand up against some of Fall Out Boy's earlier work. A must for any FOB fan and open-minded music lovers alike - but be sure to give it a few chances as many of the songs are growers and will need more than one listen to really be appreciated.

Fall Out Boy Baby. November 7, 2008 1 out of 20 found this review helpful
Well i know this album is yet to be released. But we already know it's going to be great They have never let us down before. They are a punk band mainly but have got some pop beats to thier singles. All their songs adopt a different style, yet are still amazing. I DONT CARE is the only song that has beeen released from Foile A Deux ( thier new album ) so far, and it is awesum. If you have not heard it i suggest you download it now. The video with it is also amazing, so watch it! I DONT CARE has prehaps the catchiest chourus EVER. It's great throughout, as im sure every song on the album will be! Sadly the release date has been moved on further, as they are working very hard on it to make it the best album ever. They also done this becuase they didn't want to release it to near to the American Election- as they didn't want to be seem as trying to get fame of it! x
