Label My Food

Would you buy battery farmed eggs from a shop or supermarket?
Probably not.

Yet restaurants and cafes use battery-farmed eggs every day in cakes, mayonnaise, fresh pasta, and many more dishes, without telling you. If they were labelled ‘made with battery-farmed eggs’ would you still want to eat them?

If you care about what goes into your food and where it comes from then Label My Food needs you.

Label My Food is an exciting new campaign encouraging restaurants, pubs, cafes and all other food outlets to dramatically improve the information they provide to customers on their menus.

Whether it is animal welfare, the environment, a food allergy, your religion or just a general interest in food that motivates you, please show your support.

2 out of 5 stars Absoloute Garbage   January 7, 2009
This software is next to useless. If you check out the forums and Magix own (lack of) knowledge base, you will see that many people have terrible problems with getting the picture and sound to sync.

I read the negative reviews here mentioning this and took a punt anyway, as some people seem to use it ok, and as I work in IT I was sure I'd be able to get it to work. My PC far exceeds the required spec as does my laptop, but on both I got jerky out of sync captures.

Do your self a favour and avoid this at all costs. At least Amazon let you send it back for free now if I could only get Magix to pay me for my wasted time.

I'd give it 0 stars

1 out of 5 stars Buy with caution!   December 24, 2008

Before even contemplating buying this item - type "rescue your videotapes audio sync problem " - into google.
you will then find dozens and dozens of posts on forums complaining about the above issue.
I installed the software / hardware on my 12 month old medion pc - sporting far superior specs to those recommended by the manufacturer and running vista.
It was up and running in no time so I decided to rescue my first videotape - the software captured it with ease - but when I replayed the captured video the sound wandered out of sync as the video progressed.
I tried altering various settings - went to the site for help (non offered) and I even installed it on my older machine running Xp -but the problem remained. After six hours of frustration I gave in.
Thankfully - when I returned the item Amazon refunded me - in hindsight all I can say from my experience of buying this item is it is a big gamble!

2 out of 5 stars Not very happy with this product   December 10, 2008

Would have to disagree with the people above...I have a top of the range computer, bought only recently, so no problems on that score. I find this program inconsistant. Inexplicably it records fine sometimes, but more often than not, the audio and video are out of sync and i've tried reducing the quality output etc and doesn't resolve it. Can't seem to find any explantion on the website either. I wouldn't recommend buying this product yet until these issues resolved. From reading on the web, this seems to be a consistant problem.

2 out of 5 stars Not as Easy as It Looks!   December 7, 2008

It looks so easy but having spent many afternoons with this product I feel I should pass on a warning that you need more than just basic computer skills. Even installing was problematical as our Windows XP was the wrong version. If you just want a straight copy from video it is fine, although time consuming, to actually burn the DVD. To use any of the functions from creating a title page to cutting and pasting selected bits from family videos proved challenging. It is not instinctive to use. There are few written instructions and I found it difficult to keep having to refer to the 'Help' videos to use the many functions. Often, by the time I had watched the video and returned to my project I had forgotten exactly what to do. A better written handbook would be very useful.

5 out of 5 stars Even better than expected!   December 4, 2008

Bought this programm 2 weeks ago...At the beginning i had some doubts because of the negative reviews here. But then decided to try it by myself (and finally the price is pretty good).

So, here is my review:
(1) Connected the grabber it easily with my videorecorder. (2) Installed the included Movies on DVD 7 and !IMPORTANT! Downloaded and installed the latest driver from the Magix Homepage (product page) for the videograbber. (3) Finished!

As far as i can say it works perfectly. Haven't tried very long recordings yet but within 1 hour videos everything is absolute sync. There is definitely no gap between picture and sound.

My recommendation for all people with async sound --> get and install the latest driver from Magix!!! This should solve your problem i guess. The PC shouldn't be the prob as mine is really standard (single core 2,6 GHz, 1GB RAM, GF 7600GT AGP).

At least i have to say: the captured videos are looking great - especially after cutting and optimizing them. Burning them to DVD (with menu if desired) takes only a few minutes and can be started with one click directly out of the programm.

From me: 5 stars - very good tool for capturing my old video recordings! No problems!
